To create a store:

  • Click on “store” in your account dashboard. No, it’s not really a store, but it will allow you to set up a page for your trades much like a Facebook page!
  • Add photos: Upload a large horizontal image for your banner, and a smaller image as your logo. (This doesn’t have to be a logo — use any picture you like!) This is a great chance to highlight some of the items you usually have to offer for trade.
  • You can fill in the store hours if you like, but as trades are arranged through chats, it isn’t really important. Most people just click “always open.”
  • Add a store name. It can be anything you like! (Jenny’s Chicken Farm; The Douglas Homestead; Surburban Chaos… anything!)
  • Nothing is required, but it could be a good idea to list the items that you typically have available to trade and those you are looking to obtain. For example, “I raise free range broiler chicken that are typically available at the end of the summer, and am looking to trade with someone for fresh produce or local honey” or “I make chemical-free soaps and shampoos and would love to trade with someone who makes any sort of homemade food.” This way other people can look at your store and have an idea of the types of trades you would be interested in.

That’s it! If you haven’t already, post some of the items you have available to trade. Happy trading!
